Morning Mick & Bohemian: The original smoke was caused by a fire in the Okefenokee Swamp. THen severe weather with lightning sparked several more around Folkston,Ga. area (near Ga/Fla border). That spread to like 200000 acres. About 3 weeks ago, lightning again caused several fires all around Volusia, Putnma, Clay, Duval, and Flagler Counties. The smoke fog has been so dense in and around Jacksonville that visibility was just a mile. No rains has caused a major drought this year. Fla was declared a state of Energency a couple weeks back due to the fires and the damages. I forget the name of the different fires but you can google Jax and get the story. It is horrible. The smoke is so bad that it has drifted Nor'East into Beaufort,SC almost 3 hrs away from Jax. Coup[le days ago brought some tragic wrecks on I295 due to smoke so dense..even with low beams on. Anyway...any rain at all would help!!! Have a good day...Clay
