The Pentagon says it has stopped enforcing the ban on openly gay troops to comply with a federal court order issued Wednesday. The move comes as military leaders were preparing for the end of the ban under a federal law repealing "don't ask, don't tell." The order from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is related to a pending appeal of a lower court case won by the Log Cabin Republicans, which hailed the development.
