Saw HD post about Ocean City, MD. The summer I was turning 17, was the first time my parents gave me any freedom whatsoever. A group of my HS GF's & I used to drive like bats out of hell as soon as we could get away each Friday to drive to the shore. We lived in Silver Spring and would make it there in just a couple of hours, driving 70+ miles an hour (bad, bad teens). In NJ & MD we called it the shore ( in CA they just call it going to the beach).
We used to pack all 6 of us in a room to keep it cheap. I remember the great big, long boardwalk, those fabulous, soft but a little crispy, French fries that we would drown in malt vinegar (the only fries I have ever done that with), the hours we would spend trying to outdo each other in how tan (now getting a couple of spots lasered because of that!) we would get, oh that was fun! I must go back sometime to see if those fries taste the same!
Sorry for this derailing of thread- just brought up some great beach memories!
Have a great Monday everyone!!
