In honor of this, a quick story that I think you will appreciate. When my ex and I moved in together, we rented house in Orange County.
She was very obviously butch (love those butches) and we were clearly a couple of lesbians.
There was always a gang of little 12-13 year old boys that would stare at us & giggle. One night we heard a noise outside. The little dears overturned our trashcans and wrote "Les" all over them. There was a cop patrolling the neighborhood and saw them run off. We told the cop just in case it ever escalated.
He looked at the cans and said: "Do you two know anyone named Les or Lester?"
Uh, no officer we don't". I am sure he thought us nuts because we couldn't stop laughing.
They never bothered the two les again
