You would be assuming that those people identify as a third gender or transgendered. I think it's better to get rid of it.

If they are really concerned with making sure it's the right person they should do like they do for licenses here in california and take a finger print. That would be a far more accurate way of making sure it is the correct person then having to have a sex category!
