Hey all,

Started my day watching the sunrise while I was on my beach walk, great way to start the day.

I have gotten to know quite a few folks who also do beach training for a variety of things over the last few months, it takes a while to earn their respect, but once you’ve got it they are really great about being encouraging.

There is one fellow who is out there 3-4 times a week training small groups of athletes 3-6 at a time. I just know him as coach Kenny and he has been really nice about noticing changes in me and giving a shout out whenever I go by. Sometimes, like with the other people we’ll stop and chat for a bit, it’s interesting to get to know folks over time that way.

Imagine my surprise today when I found out he is actually an Olympic gold medalist (triple jump) with a record that still stands after 16 years! He has a private training facility across the bay for pro football and basketball players.

I know it’s a bit of a derail, but it seems I’m in pretty good company out there.

Getting back on track, this Nordic walking I’m doing is really something else. I’ve added 600 cal per day to my eating plan and the weight keeps coming off at the same rate, so I guess I’m doing it right.

Everybody keep up the great work!
