I consider the same thing when buying e-textbooks. This semester, I was able to find one of my textbooks in a Kindle edition on Amazon for less than the bookstore was selling used copies for, and it only cost me $9.99. Another book was also available for Kindle, but less than the bookstore price was still over $100. If I buy directly from the campus bookstore, I also have the option of charging my books to my financial aid. I can spend $10 on a book that I won't be able to sell back, but over $100 isn't happening.
