They offer fresh running water for cats 24/7 - it encourages them to drink more water, helping to keep them healthy. I have two; 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs (I have 5 cats).
Drinkwell and Cat-it are American made - in my personal opinion Cat-it are the best and easier to clean.
