I've posted in here about this before, I know...but for me artificial sweeteners are worse than actual sugar. It's like they create and build a craving for sweets and junk (potato chips especially) that just won't quit.

Getting off the artificial sweeteners was one of the best things I've done for myself. I still slip (every once in a great while) and have a Coke Zero....but I have to be vigilant or it can start the cycle all over again for me.

I think it's one of those things that makes this a journey...we're all different. Anya brought up a great example...she has to avoid all sweets completely. I can safely have a little, as long as it's the "right" stuff. Some people here use the artifical sweetened stuff and it helps them stay on track. For me, they're horrible.

It's a process of getting to know your own body and how things work for you.
