I am sooooo with you on the Diet Coke issue. I used to drink a lot of it, crave it, and use it as a crutch...thinking that it helped me to eat fewer sweets.
In reality, I ate MORE sweets and junk food while I was drinking Diet Coke and using artificial sweeteners. They set up a craving that was unreal.
It was hard to stop using them....but, once I got through the cravings and the headaches, it got easier to resist all the other junk that I shouldn't be eating as well.
Artificial sweeteners are really, really horrible for me. I'm better off eating a little real sugar...which, at least, doesn't set me up for weeks of cravings.
