Childhood Lost
Sight torn from my eyes
Sounds ripped from my ears
voice, mouth , silence
Spirit stripped from flesh
childhood innocence stolen
innocence, a crime, punishable by death
Horrors spoon fed
atrocities precisely measured
flayed by perversion
impaled by sorrow
a childhood stolen
Goodness plucked from a too young heart
feelings made rigid by fear
loss, sorrow, hate
dark urges swarming a too young mind
perceptions sharpened by the blade of despair
senses honed by savagery
reason tempered by madness
a tortured soul does not rest
Despair is my heir
a world filled by rage
hopes crushed, fears realized
is all lost?
