We saw Albert Nobb's yesterday, and although the acting for Glenn Close was okay, I had trouble with both of the "butch" women being either abused or raped, thus the reasons for them being butch. With Glenn Close it was a matter of being forced to support herself at 14 after she had been raped, and needing to get a job as a waiter, that she put on men's clothes.
I get that with a movie of that length there probably wasn't time to go into that kind of depth, but in "my" opinion it didn't do much for the general publics view, that in some way we are all gay because we are damaged, or that we choose.
