1. The battered women's shelter, Cleveland, Ohio, for obvious reasons.
2. My first apartment, Cincinnati, Ohio. Cincinnati is a great city, but this apartment was overrun with silverfish. It also had a gas stove, and I was always too afraid to cook with it. 3. The Cliffdweller, also in Cincinnati. I called this place the "Cavedweller", because it was so dark and forested outside my door. It had a long, steep driveway that was very slick in winter. It was also about 1/2 mile from I-75 and the cars roaring past. I was there for two years.
Yet, all three of these places also had good memories, so I don't regret living there. One saved my life.
