OK, where to start. Out here we have hot dogs and we have wieners... and yes they are indeed different.

A hot dog: it's about 6" long....made of beef

we often find them at ball games, throw one on the grill during a summer cookout etc. Served on either a steamed, grilled, or right out of the bag bun.

For me during such days Ketchup is a must and sometimes onions.

A Wiener: it's about 5" long.... made of veal and pork

placed in a steamed bun, then topped with a meat sauce seasoned with a myriad of spices like cumin, paprika, chili powder and allspice, which is itself covered in finely chopped onions, celery salt and yellow mustard
