Jack's first birthday party today!!! I'm so excited!

He has just started running - he mostly skipped the walking stage - and now dashes about flapping his arms and hands for balance and giggling. He's quite comfortable as the centre of attention (imagine that! quelle surprise!) so he'll be in his element today, so many people to charm - so little time.

(It even makes a car trip with my mother and her husband bearable ... with the aid of my ipod and kindle, of course. It has recently dawned on me *this* is one of the main missions of grandchildren -to create a bridge between the generations.)
