I know I am loved because...

...it is easier to love during the joy of the good times.

Those laughing, talking, sharing, connecting, great sex times.

Those times when you feel like your life is could not be more perfect and you are walking on air.

I know I am loved because I have experienced all of that and much, more.

My butch has also experienced my surgery, my multiple invasive procedures and one more major surgery scheduled for the AM.

My butch has held me as I have cried in fear and frustration; wet numerous washcloths for literally my fevered brow; held my hair back for me as I have heaved; during my last admit, ate 3 meals per day of hospital cafeteria food for 12 days in row-without complaint and, in general, has tolerated all this (and so very much more), without running for the hills.

I know I am loved and consider myself so very, very lucky for all of these reasons.

"...I'm deeply concerned by recently adopted policies which punish children for their parents’ actions ... The thought that any State would seek to deter parents by inflicting such abuse on children is unconscionable."
