I go to the Dariy Queen to buy a Hot Fudge Sunday. The girl says "That will be $4.17." I hand her $10.00. She hands me back .83 cents. I say "I gave you a Ten." She looks at me with that question mark over her head look and then it seems like a light bulb went off and she says "Oh Yeah!" and goes back to the register and comes back with three singles. I say again a little louder (ok a lot louder haha) "I handed you a ten dollar bill!!" She again has the question mark face look and looks at the three singles I have not taken and goes back in the register for awhile. By this point I am very loud when I say. You owe me $5.83. She then comes back with my five. This is our High School education in it's finest!!!!!

Yup sadly this is so true of today. When i worked at the resort back when the kids would always slide the money to me for me to count for their purchase, i would slidddddeeee it back and make them count out what they owed me. Then make them stand there while we counted out the change together. Money counting lessons at a campground counter, pretty sad.

Also when i went back to college a few years ago i was appalled (and so was the professor) to see how many kids and just graduated college and had no idea how to do long division, or subtraction, one kid goes "what is this borrowing you keep talking about"



So that pissed me off for the education system !
