My dad had a Galaxie 500 while we were growing up. He had it for many, many years, and for as long as I can remember, only used it to drive to his job that was 10 miles away. I remember the headliner being kept closed with staples!
I saw one for sale not too long ago and wished I had my camera (cell phone) with me to take a picture. I pressed my face against the glass and had this rush memories of me as a small child. It was almost like a flashback. I could
feel what the inside handles felt like, the window lever, the seatbelt. Pretty damn wild.
I don't know what the original color of it was, but it was purple by the time I came along. Not sure of the year, but it looked a bit different from the above.
He got rid of it after the civic association of the neighborhood told him he had to remove it from the top of the driveway. He gave it to a friend at work he knew would love it.
