MODERATION

Hi, folks,

We've had a few complaints about this thread, so I figured I'd address these issues so that we can keep them in mind as we play the game.

1) Let's be careful not to joke using terms like "ADHD" or other mental conditions. I know that no harm is intended; we all just need to be more mindful about this.

2) When we dare, if it's a light prank on someone, let's continue to do our best to make sure that the one giving the dare chooses someone whom they have a sense won't mind being on the receiving end of a playful gag. I like JAGG's way of starting by saying something like, "My buddy, X, would get a kick out of this" or something like that. It wouldn't be good to choose a random stranger, because that person might feel mocked. So far, this has not been a problem, but it has been voiced as a possible problem-to-be, so I figured I'd address it preemptively.

3) If a prank takes place on a thread, let's try not to intrude upon threads that are serious for other people. We need to keep in mind the big picture and try as best we can to think ahead about what might offend.

Basically Truth or Dare is an edgy game, and there's going to be moments when we accidentally step on others' toes. During these times, let's try to be gracious and use them as learning experiences. Let's also do our best to avoid them in the first place.

Please don't take this moderation as an end to fun. Pushing the envelope is always going to involve some discussion of what is and isn't appropriate, so let's embrace that as part of the process when it comes up.

Thanks for reading this, and thanks to all who have and continue to participate in the game actively or as a observer. I've been so impressed with all the creativity as well as all the fun and laughter. So, carry on!
