Default breakthrough

I’ll use my day job only to answer Anya.

2. What has been the least rewarding and most frustrating aspect of the job?

The drastic change in the field of mental health of the, at this point, monopoly of managed care companies (insurance), has been a disaster for client care.

Politics, and money does not make the best foundation for treatment in the mental health/psychotherapy
process.

It has been frustrating, to say the least, and is certainly the least rewarding aspect of my work.

1. What has been the most meaningful aspect of your job over the years?

Answering the first one last:

One of the most meaningful aspects of my work with people has been to see what incredible resilience we embody. Despite the losses, violence, trauma, apathy, and depression we eventually find our way through the abyss (the dark night of the soul ) to personal strength, and spiritual fortitude.

I have the honor of being present to remarkable recoveries.
Today was one such day, when a client’s tears were not of her breakdown, but her break through. I was awe-struck with the energy of love in my office this afternoon.

I could go on, but will leave it here.

Thanks Anya, Greco

I can tell from your prior posts that your job has been both your vocation and your avocation.
