I really am on the same sheet Rockinonahigh and you have my sympathies. As well as cortisone tomorrow I should also find out the results of the MRI scan I had on my neck - I seem to have severely degraded discs between all my neck vertebrae and I too am hoping that surgery is avoidable.
It was my thinking that the injections have to be worth a try first before more invasive procedures - at this point in time I'll be happy with some pain-relief and mobility back in my shoulder for just a few months. My doctor thinks that surgery is inevitable on my shoulders but at least it would be key-hole surgery and not majorly invasive. Despite this it would still need recovery time and I'd prefer that to be in the dark days of winter.

Thank you for the information Liam, it's good to know that the cortisone helped for at least a while. I hope there's something like the x-stops for necks, I've looked at the site and can't find reference to neck application.
