The giving and receiving of rep is like this, not into the math of....
When a person with high rep gives some one who is new a thanks or a comment the recipient's #'s go up, there is no negative rep.
When a new member gives out rep, their rep received goes up.
So when repping you get more rep by giving and receiving.
Look at it this way, it comes with the system and ignore it.
