I completely agree with you on that.

But.....

Any time I hear govenment intervention abortion and cigarretes jump into my head.....I know 2 very different subjects.

Maybe, if as you suggested they were starting at a lower level along the food preparation chain it would seem like the government was really trying to help, not control. (OMG, I just read this and I am starting to sound like a Libertarian.....)

It would seem ironic if in my state one could legally have a gun in a restaurant/bar, but not have salt....
Did I read incorrectly?

The way I read the article was that salt wouldn't be allowed to be used in the kitchen...not that salt would be removed from table tops in restaurants.

It was my understanding the cooks wouldn't be allowed to use salt, but if a customer wanted to salt until the cows came home, they would be able to.
