It was back in early 2005 and was to meet Tmbyfem (
many here will know her from the dash site and she's a member here but not active). Tmbyfem was San Diego based and I was living in Ireland so we decided to meet at a half-way point ..... New York City !!! That this happened to be Yankees territory was purely coincidental
We had an absolutely fantastic weekend exploring a fantastic city and, in some respects, probably helped that it was on neutral territory.
Eight years later and, whilst we're no longer in a relationship, we are still remarkably close. Tmbyfem spent Christmas with my family & I in Ireland and we spent New Year's in London before she returned to San Diego earlier this week. A truly fantastic time.
The one good thing about this time of the year for me is establishing travel plans for the forthcoming twelve months. There's usually some excitement when booking flight tickets.
I'm intending on being State-side twice this year, which is pretty much the norm for me these days. However, I'll also be Philippines-bound again. My one celebrity crush is a Filipina singer, Sharon Cuneta, who wouldn't be well known outside the Philippines but is extremely famous there.
Bizarrely, I have been given the chance to meet her - through a friend of a friend who works personally for her, found out about my crush (well, obsession actually
) and thinks it is cute. Time will tell if I take up the offer - I think not as sometimes celebrity crushes are better from afar and real life may ruin the crush a bit.
