The doctors demanded my family tell my grandmother she was dying.
I was chosen to do this. Why, I have no idea since she truly despised me.
We surrounded her bed and at that very moment she opened her eyes.

She made a comment about dreaming. I said, using names, "Grandma, your mother and your father, and your sons, and your husband are here to take care of you now. You're going to be with them."

She looked at me for a moment. I continued, "It's a warm day outside. Spring is going to be here any time now."

"Oh Good," she replied and smiled. She closed her eyes and never said another word again. She died that evening as my cousin and I each held her hand.
