Her face is pale and hollow from the years of wear
Her eyes tell a secret she tries to keep away from the world
Her lifeless arms once held the love of the world for all to embrace
Her heart contained the memories of a hundred lifetimes of pain she bared
She doesn’t know how to say goodbye to that one last love she tried
The hurt is still so fresh and the bitterness so sour a taste on her lips
She knows it would be best to let that love go with the breeze
But then she would find herself empty yet again, way too much on her gentle mind
For she knows she tried her best to make it all right, to keep afloat on loves rough seas
Giving up her dreams, to live the life of another, for the sake of love; is a lonely place
But with all good intentions she did her best, but alone again is where she lays her head
Waiting, hoping for GOD to see, that she is ready to leave and go home, to slip away with ease.
She spent her life wanting to make a difference, leave a gift, and teach a lesson about love
For in her heart she knew the truth, the pain, the joy, the sorrows and the glory
She wanted to know, to taste the sweetness of the nectar she only dreamed about
But now she waits for a sign to go home, for the sign of the white dove.
