March 7, 2013: A woman holds up turtles in small plastic bags after buying them from a vendor in Beijing on March 7. Each bag, filled with oxygen & nutritional liquid, can keep the animal alive for two months & sells for less than $2. Many animal-rights groups are calling for an end to the practice, which is legal in China. Some Chinese use plastic bags containing turtles or gold fish as key chains & believe they bring good luck. With an accompanying picture of two tiny little turtles in plastic bags (I can't post the picture from my iPad). I am angry and broken hearted at the same time.
