Well I've got something to say
Been thinking about it for a long long time

Even on a really really good day it is hard to relate

Our obsession with beauty
Our obsession with youth
Is not a new preoccupation but to tell you the truth
I feel an obligation to present an alternate view
I'm gonna go out on a limb here
It's the least I can do
Cause when you get a little older it all starts to make sense
That ain't no accident, baby, that's experience

There's a hidden benefit to getting older
I have found
Don't you want a lover who knows which way is up
When they're going down down down?
Someone you can count on
Who'll stay on track
Cause when you give, baby
You want to get what you give back
Been around the block a few times
One or two times more than you
And what they say about old dogs?
It ain't true

It takes a good sense of adventure and a willingness to learn
But you've got to have fuel gathered, baby
If you really want to burn burn burn
That takes practice
That takes time
It's way beyond you show me yours - I'll show you mine

Well that's about it
I feel better already
Like a weight's been lifted from my shoulders
Look, my hands are rock steady
I'm glad I had the opportunity to get this off my chest
Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and hope for the best
Well I may not be twenty
But at the risk of offense
Don't mess with me I've got experience

Don't count me out
Don't write me off
Don't underestimate my ability to come from behind
I've still got a few tricks up my sleeve that'll blow your mind
