Here in coastal New England, we refer to this style as "what the inside of your house looks like when the tide recedes".

Hmmmm....I can foresee a few problems here.
1. Not a good house if one were to own a cat.
2. Hot sex on the floor might be a skosh problematic.
3. The "5 second rule" would no longer apply to any dropped food items (especially anything sticky.)
4. If your drop an earring back, contact lens, etc. good luck on finding it. Ever.
Of course the upshot is no vacuuming required.
