I love alternative history! The narrator uncovered "evidence" that Edward IV of England was illegitimate, and therefore the throne should have been passed down through his brother, George Duke of Clarence's descendants. He followed a path all the way to one of George's living descendants, a rice farmer in Australia.

Edward IV's daughter married Henry Tudor, who himself had a flimsy claim to the throne. So flimsy, that his son, Henry VIII, went on a rampage against all remaining Plantagenets who were closer to the throne than himself. But the one who started it all, William the Conqueror, was himself illegitimate and so technically, the entire royal family is a fraud. But, he who wins the battles gets all the marbles and gets to write the history. Interesting stuff, though.
