Considered the most beautiful woman in the world during her heyday - 1930's & 40's - Greta Garbo had many affairs with women. Hugo Vicker's biography: 'Loving Garbo', is a tell-all and insightful view of her romantic involvement with Mercedes de Acosta & Cecil Beaton (who was gay himself, but evidently could not resist the Swede). It is a facinating read, and also exposes many other 'ladies' of the 'sewing circle'.
