Helllllooooooo!

I have soooo much to tell you all.

It's a good thing I keep a tiny notebook with my progress in it.

Okay, so my last post in here was for the 28th.

July 29th-I spent 35 minutes on the treadmill for 1.73 miles and about 171 calories burned. I played with the incline a teeny bit too. I worked up a light sweat but nothing to write home about (just you all ).

Oh! I got paid to workout! There was a quarter sitting in the treadmill in the pocket where I put my glasses. Hell, yeah! Who says good health doesn't pay off?

But....here's my gripe for that day. Some beefcake brought his kid to the gym. You're not supposed to be on the equipment unless you are a teenager and an adult is supervising you.

So, I can't get on T5 because there's this TEN YEAR OLD running and huffing and puffing on it. I was a little worried for the kid, with the way he was stopping and starting and playing around with the machine but then he hopped off and disappeared into the mass of people. Man, it was super busy that night!

July 30th-It was a really good day. I worked hard. 65 minutes on the treadmill and a smidge over 4 miles for a total of 443 calories burned. My left calf really hurt, though. I'm still having leg issues but the pain is morphing in pattern, feeling and location. Weird. I did do some inclining around 1.5 and my calf felt better afterwards. Again, weird.

I felt a little out of sorts too. I'm sure that affected my workout but I tried really hard to shake it off and just concentrate on my breathing and my body's response to everything.

July 31st-60 minutes on ye ole treadmill, coming in just under 4 miles and burning around 354 calories. It was a bad calf day again. I try to stretch more on days when the legs feel extra grumpy. Some days it helps and some days it doesn't. Thank goodness for compression sleeves. I'm going to have to buy stock in those.

August 2nd-I scouted a new location. They have newer equipment but I don't think I like it as much as the older stuff at my home gym. My gym's weights feel heavier and I like that. I shouldn't be able to set 70lbs on the ab- and adduction machines and do it like it's nothing. Not when 60lbs at my home gym has me struggling for form after a couple of sets.

So, anyway, this other gym plays their music way louder but has way fancier treadmills. I'll be going there a few times during the month when I want to rev up the running; they have a running interval program on their treadmills that I want to try out.

I played with a lot of machines and phoned in an upper body workout but they have way cool ab machines and I like that their stretching area is alllll the way in the back around the corner and is not visible from the front door. The stretching area also has a barre, which I like.

August 4th-I spent 60 minutes on T5 (I haven't been able to get any time with my favorite machine lately, so it felt good) and burned about 336 calories and went 3.35 miles. I spent 8 of those minutes running @ 6.0 mph and got some mad incline action in at the end, going up to 8.5 before my cooldown kicked in.

Next, I worked my lower body, back, abs and did some stretching. All in all, about 2 hours well spent.

Funny note for those that like fun coincidences: I glanced down at the screen as I was working out and saw this:

323 calories..........3.23 miles..........3:23 time (cooldown counting backwards)

Today's a rest day aka I'm damn tired aka I have to go to work early tomorrow aka I'll have plenty of manual labor to do tomorrow aka yeah.
