I have struggled over the years with how high I want my white socks (while wearing shorts), to come above my foot (meaning, how long I want the socks to be). For some reason I have never been able to determine what looks best on me. Popping right out of the sneaker, or a little bit higher? It has always been a struggle.

Dapper, thank you. The problem is my socks are all black but they are not the exact same socks, so that is why they don't match. I buy them so seldom that each time they are different. I need to make a note of it so that I buy the same exact ones every time. Then they will match better. Or maybe I could throw out the old ones and start over. There's a thought.
I also don't wear socks very often so my laundry doesn't contain that many socks to wash at the same time. I work from home and I mostly go barefoot. That situation may change, who knows.
I bought the ankle socks yesterday for wearing with tennis shoes and shorts. But I also got new flip flops, which I will most likely be wearing most of the time when I do need foot covering. I haven't struggled with the ankle sock length issue.
