At my nail salon, there is a threading table set up. My nail lady set me up right next to the table, so I heard a lot of the conversations as the women came in to get their brows done.

One of the customers was someone who they had not seen a while and I heard some of the conversation but maintained a conversation with my nail lady at the same time so the threading lady filled us in when the customer left.

In a nutshell, her husband passed away around Thanksgiving and she was just finishing up a round of chemo. The chemo ruined her nails so she couldn't get them done this time but her brows had filled back in enough to get them taken care of.

It just makes you take a step back and realize that there's always someone else who's hurting more or handling more than you and there's always someone's who is stronger and more brave than you.

That woman had a lot of hurt in her life but she walked in and out of the salon with a smile on her face.

I'm not big on prayer but I said one for her on my way home.
