Story from the gym (not from today but I can't help thinking about it whenever I have the choice between stairs and an elevator in life... which is, of course, a lot):

This normal looking, fit, young woman had just finished some intense exercise class, and she was at that level of combined fatigue and exhilaration where one is somewhat psychotic. I heard her whisper to herself in a fog, "I'm so exhausted. I'm going to take the elevator." And then she stopped suddenly, turned on her heel, her glassy eyes wide, and whispered to herself definitively, "No, I'm going to take the stairs." It was like she caught herself while in a post exercise delirium almost committing the sin of taking the elevator, but instead she was going to keep the momentum alive. It was so memorable to be inside her internal process. Not sure why! It still gives me a laugh but also holds some power in it I guess.
I know that feeling! I've been that glassy-eyed girl!

When the endorphins are doing their thing it does feel like a crime to take an easy way out when you have an option. I'm already sweaty and I think to myself that every single movement counts, because when I'm honest with myself, I know I'm not going to workout as much as I should so I try to make every second that I do count.

Those are my quality over quantity days.
