I cooked enough to feed an army...for a dinner party of 3 friends plus myself...each of my friends deserved a good homemade dinner after their long day....one helped me bush-hog a big part of 2 fields and the old garden then spent his day working corn fields...another worked their butt off in the warehouse all day...and the other had a long trip to get here...it was my pleasure to make the following for them...

A huge, tender, delicious roast chicken...roasted, sweet acorn squash with butter and melted brown sugar...garlic mashed taters with chicken gravy...fresh from garden carrots cooked tender in apple juice and a little brown sugar and hot baked yeast rolls...all with decaf sweet tea...


I rushed to get everything done because I had also been helping a neighbor and got distracted a bit, so I almost burned the squash and had to make a run to the store for milk...but with all my mishaps today, I'm proud everything turned out wonderful and each of my friends were very pleased...

The best part was...having a great time with friends laughing and enjoying each other's company...
