I'm thankful for therapy and meds. And I'm especially thankful for my stepmom who pushed me to get both.

I've had depression on and off for more than 25 years. However it's always been moderate for the most part. Sometimes it's worse in the winter.

Unfortunately, over the last year or so it's been worse. I work in mental health and *should* know better, but I kept thinking I could just get through it.

I finally reached out for help (after much encouragement from my stepmom) and started a new medication. (I've been on some meds for years.) It's amazing how after just a short time that medication has made a difference.

I have been interested in doing things again, I have stopped laying in bed all day, and the thoughts of death have gone away.

So today I'm thankful for that little tiny pill and, most especially, for my stepmom who pushed me to get help.
