My parents had four sets of these to divide, section off the older part of the house from a recent addition where our everyday living space dining area and family room were. In the family room along with the television and usual furniture stuff there was an 8-track player meant to go in a vehicle that my dad had somehow rigged up to sit in the entertainment center and play in the house over the record player/radio speakers, a gaming system with one game – pong, a swag lamp, a lava lamp (our first one was red and cordless and candle power operated when it died we got an electric model blue one), a bean bag chair, a split leaf philodendron (which back then were considered/treated like rare and exotic tropical plants) in a terracotta pot, and an avocado seed/pit with toothpicks jammed in it/propped up in a mason canning jar full of water and left to root. People said our family room was so “mod”.
