Default Ben was a hero tonight - give him props

Ben http://www.butchfemmeplanet.com/forum/member.php?u=836
heard a noise and looked out his bedroom window tonight (last night?) and saw a big fire in our rear neighbor's back yard. He ran to see if they were out there burning something. He quickly determined that the fire was out of control and yelled to me to call 911. The town we live in has only a volunteer fire department, so I strongly feared the wood frame home would burn down before they got to it. The 911 call seemed to take forever. People in the neighborhood broke down the front door to make sure there was no one in the home. The homeowners were visiting a friend at a local hospital, it turned out. The police then the fire department got there and they were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the home. The fire was pretty much under control by the time the homeowners got home, thank god, so they did not have to go through the horror of watching that huge fire surrounding their home. Their chicken coup with about 15 chickens was a loss, the shed attached to the carport burned completely, but thanks to Ben's quick action the fire department got there quickly enough to save the house.

Yaaaaay Ben!
