Vicodin!!
I usually don't take pain killers, don't even like to take Tylenol for headaches or Pamprin for cramps. I usually just put up with it, knowing it will go away soon, lol. I've been putting up with a sore shoulder for over a year now, and haven't had insurance to get any x-ray or MRI done. The doc thinks it's a torn rotator cuff and can't say with 100% certainty until I can get on the insurance offered here by the Heath Dept (not medicaid through the state because as an adult this state doesn't give you medicaid unless you're a pregnant woman). Finally, I gave in and asked for a prescription for Vicodin. He wouldn't give it to me, he gave me Tramadol, which made me violently ill. I told him I can't take Tylenol 3 because it makes me very ill, and he gives me Tramadol which was worse. So I called in and told them and said PLEASE give me Vicodin, I know it doesn't make me sick. They gave me Tylenol 3 and I had to tell them I can't take it.. Their question was "are you sure?" uh, yeah it only makes me vomit until I feel like my stomach is gonna twist inside out. DUH! Both vicodin and Tramadol say you can't take them if you can't take codeine but for some reason I CAN take Vicodin.
FINALLY the doc gave me vicodin. I'm only taking it at night so I can not be in so much pain and I can sleep. I'm dealing with the pain during the daytime hours. I'm determined I am NOT going to become dependent on those damned things. Besides I can stand the pain during waking hours, it's just when I'm trying to sleep it keeps me awake.
So I'm smiling because I can finally sleep pain free!!
