I made dinner for my aunt and her friend. I was just reflecting on how much I love to play hostess.

It's interesting because I used to view this act as anti-feminist - getting all dolled up, and spending hours chopping, dicing, mixing, sauteing. Then the refilling glasses and plates all night.

For whatever reason, I've gravitated toward the kitchen a lot more, lately. I think feeding others fulfills some primal need. That is, when you're cooking for people you like.
