Funny story: we finally found the two sanders that they still had in stock so I told her I was going to keep it with me until I decided between the cordless and the corded varieties. Cut to about 15 minutes later. I was coming out of the restroom and picked up the box that I set aside outside the entrance when she was coming in and she laughed and said, "You were serious about hanging onto it!"
I got lists! I love lists. I make them all the time. It's very satisfying checking things off.
The going rate depends on the job completed.
I've gotten in over 1100 steps so far today but I've got plans for some work later. I watched some videos this morning and it's very straightforward so I doubt I'll have any problems sanding later.

For the orbital palm sander I hope you chose the corded one. Sometimes sanding projects take a long time, and you will want the power of the corded sander without having to worry that the battery will wear out.
Going Rate: I'll be sure to bring my corded tools so they don't run out
Not doing steps today....does avoiding paper cuts count as a workout???
