OMG!! This brings me back to my mother teaching me to drive!! Now, the car we had prior to the one she taught me in... did not have blinkers or directional signals... It was a 1951 Chevy Powerglide. I'm so old!!

For a long time after Chevy came out with this automatic transmission model, the term Powerglide was used a lot, sort of how we all say Kleenex for facial tissue.. and Kleenex is a brand name.

Ugh... she taught me to drive in a huge 1962 Pontiac Catalina in the middle of winter in the snow in the Sierra Nevada range in Northern CA. Brave woman, terrified teen driver. Felt like the back end of that car was going to wrap around the front end going around curves on Hwy 89 around Lake Tahoe! really learned to come out of spin-outs, though!
