Printers Row Lit Fest Sep 11Sep 12, 2021 Various locations throughout Chicago
Calling all book nerds! The Midwest’s biggest free outdoor literary festival returns this September for its 36th year with everything from a huge outdoor book market spanning five blocks to talks with artists and authors, including a discussion with Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award winner Colson Whitehead (who replaces Ta-Nehisi Coates as headliner). Other highlights range from a BookTok panel (examining the rise of book reviewers on TikTok) to a commemorative 9/11 event with Divided by Terror: American Patriotism after 9/11 author John Bodnar and University of Illinois Chicago professor/writer Nadine Naber, plus events with Michelle Duster (great-granddaughter of Ida B. Wells and author of biography Ida B. the Queen: The Extraordinary Life and Legacy of Ida B. Wells) and Elly Fishman (Refugee High: Coming of Age in America).
Curious about what else to expect from the fest this year? Check out the rest of the 2021 lineup.
