I was playing with my bass guitar earlier, and suddenly remembered a bit of something I came up with quite a few years ago, and managed to shape it into a little song (I actually have a tune for this one!).
The girl that I love (don't love me)
I'm in love with a really nice girl
She's got my head going in a whirl,
But oh my love can never be,
'Cause the girl that I love don't love me.
She ain't pretty, she's kind of plain,
But how I love her just the same,
And now my life's sweet misery,
'Cause the girl that I love don't love me.
(bridge)
Love is gentle and love is kind,
And love is cruel 'cause love is blind.
I wish I never felt this way,
'Cause the girl that I love isn't gay.
When she smiles, it lights my world,
She's such a sweet and lovely girl
But oh my love can never be,
'Cause the girl that I love don't love me.
No, the girl that I love don't love me.
The girl that I love..
.. don't love me.
