Back in the day we had the coolest DJs in Detroit: Martha Jean the Queen, Butterball Jr, and Ernie D. Martha Jean (who was also a minister, I think) would do a 2-hour shout out to the men and women who worked at the auto factories. Ernie D was playing "Quite Storm" music before they called it quiet storm. You could only get jazz on the FM and soul on AM.

Radio ruled in 1969.
