koshering
-----------
Is the process of, in particular, making a home kosher for Passover an intense 2 day (in addition to prep. done for about 6 wks prior) event involving the search for every last crumb of any of 5 grains. Mainly, it's the search for any trace of leavened bread or bread like (cookies, cake, even medications) items. One's oven must be cleaned intensely then often a rabbi will come with a blow torch and burn the inside (orthodox prep.) or you could clean it then simply make it off limits then not use for over a week. I mean to say this is a very time consuming serious ritual. Ref. Wikipedia mainly for all info I did not learn directly from rabbis over my lifetime.
