Default Meetings

I hate meetings—especially those that last all day. So you can imagine how I feel about back-to-back meetings that take place over three days.

Was in meetings all day yesterday and will be in meetings all day today and tomorrow.

I’m not a thinker. I’m a worker bee. This isn’t modesty, I just know myself very well in this regard. I do have to ‘think” on my job, but I dont’ give a damn about the big picture and I don’t enjoy chit-chatting about the future. My role, thank goodness, is focusing on the small picture. Give me some comma’s to change, colors to adjust, files to organize and I’m a happy camper.

One of the things I hate about meetings is that people lie, lie, lie. They love hearing themselves make promises they know they won’t keep. Blah, blah, blah.

I just want to do my work that I enjoy doing so much.

I’m surprised they still invite me to these meetings as grumpy as I get.

Years ago I lost it in a meeting and called someone a liar. He was lying and was lying on me. They stopped inviting me to meetings for a few years and that one move stopped me from getting into a management position (shrug). I can’t lose it in these meetings without getting into a lot of trouble and possibly fired. Too bad.
