Making out a grocery list, paying some bills. Listening to the wind. Watching birds fly off somewhere for the night. There's been a huge wind/dust storm and only now, right before sunset, are things starting to settle down, the sky looks amazing. Having a snack, sipping some tea, drying some laundry. Comforting Monte. There are windstorms and then there are windstorms and we've never been through one as big as this one in all the time he's lived with me. I'm getting ready to play my card game and listen to the news online. After, maybe a movie since the TV is up and running again and I'll have some time to kill till L (that's my helper) gets here to run me to the store.
Things are going crazy here because people are stocking up due to fears about the corona virus. Costco is slammed, I can't imagine. Shoppers there, so many are so rude. They always shop like they've done no preparing, it's just days before the tribulation sets in, and they have no hope of being raptured because there they go, all their friends floating away without them. And that's in good times. Imagine if there ever was a real disaster. Tonight I'm going to shop in my old neighborhood where people are too poor to strip the shelves bare and rioters and looters will be shot on site. These rich people around here are crazy. I mean having a lifetime supply of BBQ tongs, toothpaste and peppered beef jerky isn't going to do thing one to save anyone from the corona virus. |
