Before we lived here, we always stopped and ate here when coming to this side of the water. Shortly after moving here, the place changed hands and well, I guess we were leary.

Yesterday as we drove past the place we noticed how busy it was on the large outside patio yet with safe distancing enforced.

It always had good food & great service and after seeing many favorable reviews on Yelp it appears it still does, but just to be on the safe side we'll go check it out very soon and report back!

Venue: Museum of Science and Industry 5700 S Lake Shore Dr Chicago

Iron Man, Spider-Man, Black Window and more famous costumed crusaders take over the Museum of Science and Industry in this pop-culture-focused exhibition that explore more than 80 years of Marvel comics, movies and memoribelia. You'll find more than 300 items on display, include costumes and props from Marvel movies and original art created for the company's comic books.

Much of the exhibit takes design cues from the popular Marvel cinematic universe, including a mirrored room inspired by the trippy visuals of Doctor Strange and a recreation of Tony Stark's lab as it appeared in the Iron Man films, stocked with multiple versions of armor. You'll be able to snap photos with recreations of some of your favorite character and learn how a comic company became a multi-media cultural juggernaut.

Alison Bechdel, the illustrious comic artist and writer whose life was depicted onstage in the musical Fun Home, has penned a new graphic memoir—this time detailing her complicated, long-running relationship to fitness. Titled The Secret to Superhuman Strength, the memoir covers the trials of fad exercises and how, despite the hurdles and pitfalls of self-improvement, we might even learn to appreciate our bodies for carrying us through life.

Bechdel will be joined by artist Nicole Eisenman to discuss The Secret to Superhuman Strength in this virtual Chicago Humanities Festival talk and Q&A session, so be sure to come prepared with questions. (Bonus: Tickets come with a copy of the book.)

The private collection includes more than 80 original works by the mysterious artist.

Organizers have announced a July 1 opening date for "The Art of Banksy," which will be hosted in a "yet-to-be-disclosed location in the city’s West Loop neighborhood." Tickets went on sale on Thursday, May 6 and prices start at $40 for adults and $30 for children age 16 and young. The show is currently scheduled to be on display through November 28.

Pride Parade To Be Held In October After Last Year’s Coronavirus Cancellation....

Traditionally, the hugely popular parade is held on the last Sunday of June as a closing to Pride Month and a nod to the Stonewall Rebellion, which began June 28, 1969, and is largely considered a catalyst for the gay liberation movement. But the parade is being held later this year to give the city more time to bounce back from the pandemic, Frye said.

You've probably played Pac-Man before, but did you know that the iconic video game character was introduced to American audiences by Chicago-based Midway Games? Chicago Gamespace's latest exhibition explores the history of one of the most popular digital characters on the planet, considering how a yellow group of pixels became a beloved part of pop-culture that has jumped from arcade cabinets to home consoles and movie screens. Collecting games and Pac-Man ephemera (including soap, lunch boxes and clothing), “Nom Nom: 40 Years of Pac-Man Design and History” is an interactive tribute to a the hungriest video game icon.

Logan Square Boulevards

Encompassing parts of Humboldt Boulevard, Kedzie Avenue and Logan Boulevard, the "boulevards" of Logan Square are lined with some of the most stunning architecture in all of Chicago. Marvel at massive Victorians, stately brick homes and textbook examples of Prairie School style. The tree-lined streets and grassy picnic nooks that line the streets don't hurt the view, either.

Lower Wacker Drive

Remember the scene in The Dark Knight where Batman, the Joker and a crew of cops face off in a high-speed chase beneath the city streets? That heart-pounding scene was filmed on Chicago's Lower Wacker Drive, located directly below Wacker Drive downtown (fun fact: There's even a third tier below that, known as "Lower Lower Wacker Drive." Though many Chicagoans will disagree about the street's scenic appeal, there's no denying that this iconic city shortcut feels like an entirely different world.

Midway Plaisance

If you've ever been on the campus at the University of Chicago, chances are you've probably ended up on the Midway Plaisance, a mile-long bit of road that connects Jackson Park and Washington Park. There's plenty of lush green space sandwiched between the opposing roadways, and you'll be able to see the stately University of Chicago buildings off to the north. Continue west to loop around the DuSable Museum of African American History, or go east to wrap around the lagoons of Jackson Park.

Over Easy, a 15-year-old breakfast and brunch spot in Ravenswood known for its many crowd-pleasing egg dishes and walls crammed with photographs, paintings, and sculptures of eggs, has closed permanently. Fans were unsure of the restaurant’s status as its owner have kept the doors shut since late December, a holiday break that grew from a few weeks to an indefinite length.

Ownership announced that its run was officially over on Wednesday on Instagram, but my "traveling companion" who lives in Chicago informed me of this in one of our recent phone conversations.

New Navy Pier Hotel Unveils All-Day Restaurant With 150-Seat Lakeside Patio

Friday (today) marks the debut of the restaurant inside the Sable Hotel, a 223-room property that opened earlier in March.

Lirica is a Latin-inspired restaurant with tapas and entrees like fish tacos, skirt steak, and a cheeseburger for picky tourists. It’s an all-day restaurant that will serve hotel guests and the breakfast menu includes chilaquiles and Spanish omelets.

CTA passes are getting a price cut this summer to encourage ridership!

To encourage more riders to tap a Ventra card and go for a ride, the city and the CTA are introducing a trio of discounted unlimited ride passes that will be available to customers from Friday, May 28 through Labor Day (Monday, September 6). The cheaper one-, three- and seven-day passes are meant to welcome back former regular CTA riders, attract new customers and encourage existing customers to ride more often. Here's the pricing breakdown for the discounted passes:

One-day pass: $5 (down from $10)
Three-day pass: $15 (down from $20)
Seven-day pass: $20 (down from $28)

You'll be able to snag the passes at the discounted prices by visiting Ventra kiosks at CTA train stations, through the Ventra app, on the Ventra website and via more than 1,000 retailers throughout the city that sell CTA passes.

Morton Arboretum 4100 IL-53, Lisle, IL

Last Friday, a new exhibition called "Human+Nature" officially opened at the 1,700-acre park in suburban Lisle. Visitors can take in five fantastical, 15- to 26-foot-tall sculptures made by South African artist Daniel Popper that explore the intersection between the human and natural worlds.

"Each sculpture has a story behind it, but I like to leave the questions about each piece a little bit open, so people can come and bring their own ideas to it," Popper said in a press release. "I want people to come here and ask questions of themselves about their relationship with nature."

"Human+Nature" opens May 28 and admission is included with regular time-entry tickets to the Arboretum.
